Summer Exchange Program

The Vukovar Summer Exchange Program in 2005 built on momentum gathered at camp by expanding the range of learning opportunities offered in and around Vukovar during the summer. After Peace Camp, Youthbridge staff provided additional activities and mentoring for up to 55 participants over a ten-day period. Additional community youth groups in Serbia and Bosnia were invited to meet Youthbridge participants and participate in youth-led activities in Vukovar.

With the Summer Community Exchange program, Youthbridge maintained continuity and also introduced a new aspect of community dialogue by extending participation to neighboring communities in Serbia and Bosnia . In those ten days, Vukovar youth were given the rare opportunity to interact and cooperate with their peers from neighboring regions, quickly realizing that they are not alone in their struggle against inter-ethnic intolerance.
