Support The Youthbridge Initiative
Every donation brings us one step closer to helping youth from conflicted areas build bridges of peace to each other and their communities. We will update all of our supporters on how their contributions have impacted these valuable lives. A seedling non-profit organization, The Youthbridge Initiative is thankful for donations of any amount.
EUR 35/USD 46:
One day at camp
35 Euros finances one student per day at the Youthbridge peace camp. At camp, students are taught theories in conflict resolution and skills for peace-building. These are then applied in practical examples through role-plays and other activities.
EUR 100/USD 130:
Follow-up training for youthbridge alumni
After camp, our twice-monthly locally run workshops are of utmost importance to support continued communication and cooperation between alumni, allowing them to further their growth.
EUR 200/USD 260:
Student-led community service projects
Based on ideas for community action discussed at peace camp, participants design and implement their own projects aimed at community improvement all year round. Small groups apply for grants of EUR 200 toward these projects on a quarterly basis.
EUR 420/USD 546:
One camp session
420 Euros ensures a teenager the opportunity to attend an entire twelve day session of peace camp. The resonance from past peace camp participants has been overwhelmingly positive. One student remarked, "in the future, I'll approach many (things) different, and now I have a better opinion about people and life in general."
EUR 4200/USD 5460:
One camp session for an entire advanced group
Each year, ten students who have shown involvement and initiative throughout the year are invited to return to camp for a second time to strengthen their understanding of conflict management, human rights, and stereotypes while enabling and encouraging them to take over leadership roles within the group and their community.
EUR 6200/USD 8050:
Year-round peer leader program
A peer leader program has been developed for those students who have taken part in two Youthbridge summer camps and who have remained active and engaged in the community. In addition to taking on a leadership role at camp, peer leaders take part in leadership seminars prior to and following camp, head up community service project teams and provide support for other students through an ambassador program.
EUR 10000/USD 13000:
Year-round peer mediator training &program
The peer mediator training and accompanying year-round program comprise the final stage of the Youthbridge curriculum. Students are chosen for this program through an application process and based on demonstrated leadership skills and commitment to the community. In addition to receiving intensive peer mediator training, peer mediators initiate and implement community-oriented activities such as exchanges and open houses, present conflict management and communication strategies at local schools, and serve as contact people for younger Youthbridge participants.
